Old, original springs will lose tension over time, causing the hood to drop slightly when it is open. Plated dull black, this hinge spring is 9-3/8 inches in length with 28 correct coils for specific spring rate on heavier SS hoods. Don't wait to replace your hood hinge springs, and get your hood operating cleanly and effectively. WARNING: Hood springs in general are not recommended for use on fiberglass hoods as the extra tension can cause stress cracks in the fiberglass reinforcement resulting in hood failure.
