The Lester Tire Company, founded by Tom Lester in the 1960s, became a prominent supplier in the vintage tire market. Originally named "Lincoln Highway," the company developed a reputation for producing high-quality tires suitable for both pre-war and post-war vehicles. In 1982, Universal Vintage Tire Company acquired the assets of the Lester Tire Company, expanding their selection of vintage tires. At the time of acquisition, Lester Tire was an influential leader in the development and sales of antique and classic car tires. The addition of the Lester tire molds allowed Universal to create an inventory of tire sizes unparalleled elsewhere in the world. 

Today, Lester tires continue to be available through Universal Vintage Tire, catering to the needs of classic car enthusiasts seeking authentic and reliable tire options for their vintage vehicles. Lester tires are manufactured in authentic molds, using bias ply construction. We offer the Lester Tire brand in nearly 40 sizes, ranging from the Brass Era into the 1960's. Rim diameters range from 14 to 23 inches in conventional bias ply tires, and we also offer two High Pressure tires in the Lester brand. There are many Pre-War fitments, such as the classic 600-16 size, but we also offer hard-to-find sizes for 17 and 18 inch wheels from the 1930's.
