Nova and Chevy II ushered in a new era for GM. With classic looks and timeless appeal, the 1968 Nova and Chevy II is a wonderful platform for an LS engine upgrade. This Nova Vintage Air Gen IV air conditioning unit is sure to keep you cool even on the hottest summer days. This kit includes all components needed to complete the installation except for belts and engine pulleys. Just install, charge and go! This is not a "hang-on" kit; it fits under the dash, taking place of the original heater system. This Gen IV unit features fool-proof electronic servo controls that operate using the original heater control panel. These servos control an advanced ECM module for maximum efficiency. All of our Vintage Air systems use HFC-134A refrigerant.
The Short And Long Of Chevy Water Pumps
Chevy Nova mechanical short style water pumps measure 5-5/8” high from the shaft down with the pilot shaft diameter measuring 5/8". Long style Chevy Nova water pumps measure 7” high from the shaft down, and the pilot shaft diameter was 5/8" as well. Do not mix and match pulleys from short and long water pump engines because this will cause pulley misalignment. An easy way to find out what style you have while your pump is still installed on the engine is to try to stick your hand between the water pump and timing chain cover. If you can slip your fingers in-between you have a long, if not you have a short.
